The Los Angeles Lakers are out on the hunt for a trade in order to back LeBron James up, and the rumor mill has a few names. This includes Atlanta Hawks Guard Dejounte Murray, as well as a couple of defensive players, and even a very surprising but controversial name.

Las Vegas oddsmakers, Bovada Sportsbook, is looking at the upcoming scramble for the February 8, 2024 trade deadline, and it has the Los Angeles Lakers as the favorites to land Atlanta Hawks guard Dejounte Murray.

According to a report by Heavy, if Murray is not with the Atlanta Hawks anymore after the trade deadline, the Vegas booker has the Los Angeles Lakers as the current favorite with -115 odds. The New York Knicks are at a close second at +105, followed by the Toronto Raptors, Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Miami Heat, who are tied with +950 odds.

"One more player to keep an eye on. I'm told a potential target for the Lakers [is] Hawks guard Dejounte Murray," said The Athletic reporter Shams Charania. "Dejounte Murray still has four years, $120 million of an extension that kicks in next season, a reasonable salary to be bringing in when you already have LeBron James and Anthony Davis on your books."

The Hawks originally brought Murray in from the San Antonio Spurs to back up Trae Young in the backcourt. However, he has struggled over in Georgia, and Atlanta may be looking to trade him despite still playing at a very high level.

Los Angeles Lakers Fron Office Wants Team To Land Controversial Former All-Star

Meanwhile, it seems that the Lakers are also shopping for defensive players, and the team's front office is eyeing one of the most controversial names in NBA history, four-time All-Star, eight-time All-Defensive Team selection, and former Defensive Player of the Year Draymond Green.

His current team, the Golden State Warriors, has been having trouble with the former All-Star forward with his antics on the court and may be looking to get rid of him to avoid further controversy after two recent suspensions and punching Jordan Poole.

Green is currently suspended indefinitely, and with an aging roster, the Warriors may be looking to do more with their younger talent and get rid of their most controversial player.

Los Angeles Lakers Also Looking To Add Two Brooklyn Nets Defensive Players To Back Up LeBron James

However, the Los Angeles Lakers are also looking to add more "realistic" goals as the February trade deadline approaches, and they may be looking to add defensive pieces to support LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the frontline.

According to Larry Brown Sports, the Lakers are reportedly interested in current Brooklyn Nets forwards Dorian Finney-Smith and Royce O'Neale. The Lakers have reportedly been interested in them since the offseason and are reportedly much-needed roleplayers for the Lakers should they get them.
