The Major League Baseball announced the National League and American League roster for the 2014 All-Star Game, which will feature six Oakland Athletics players and four Milwaukee Brewers players.

The Athletics, who have the best record in the league at this point, will send third baseman Josh Donaldson, catcher first baseman Brandon Moss, outfielder Yoenis Cespedes, catcher Derek Norris, and pitchers Scott Kazmir and Sean Doolittle to the midsummer classic, scheduled for July 13 at the Target Field in Minneapolis.

The Athletics, who currently hold a 55-33 record this season, became the first team to have six All-Stars since the 1975 season.

AL East-leading Baltimore Orioles will send three players to the All-Star Game -- center fielder Adam Jones, designated hitter Nelson Cruz, and catcher Matt Wieters, while shortstop Derek Jeter, rookie pitcher Masahiro Tanaka, and Dellin Betances will represent the New York Yankees.

Jeter, who will be making his ninth start, will be one of the centerpieces of this year's event since he will be playing in his final All-Star Game.

On the other hand, National League-leading Milwaukee Brewers will have four players representing the club in the highly-anticipated All-Star Game -- 3B Aramis Ramirez, OF Carlos Gomez, C Jonathan Lucroy, and starting pitcher Francisco Rodriguez.

Former Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Jeff Samardzija was also named to the National League All-Star team, but the 29-year-old pitcher confirmed that he will not be able to pitch for the NL team after he was traded to the Oakland Athletics last week.

"I won't get to pitch, which is a bummer, but that's all right," said Samardzija, who will still be introduced as a National League All-Star on Sunday. "I'll just go through whatever ceremonies they have and just jump over to the AL dugout with an NL jersey on and have some fun with the six other dudes we have over there."

The starters for each position were selected through fan voting, while the rest of the All-Stars were picked based on players' vote and picked by managers Mike Matheny of the St. Louis Cardinals and John Farrell of the Boston Red Sox.
