Just a few days after stirring controversy with the provocative cover art for her single "Anaconda," Nicki Minaj pushed back the highly anticipated track's release date an entire week.

The Trinidadian emcee took to her Instagram account last week to post the artwork for the second single following "Pills N Potions," off her forthcoming third studio album "The Pink Print." The controversial image shows her facing back while squatting, sporting only a pink sports bra and matching butt-baring g-string thong.

From the Google logo to famous masterpieces, Minaj's nearly naked picture immediately became the target of online memes. The YMCMB rapper responded to the recent criticisms by reposting some of the mocking images and writing: "IG HAS NO CHILL," "I can't," "I'm sad," "The Statue of Liberty tho yall? Praying yall find yall chill on this fine Sunday," and "But Why?"

The "Starships" hitmaker returned to the social media account on Sunday to share another pink-themed workout promotion photo, in which she faces front in the same pink ensemble. She also announced a new release date for the Polow Da Don and Da Interz-produced track, which was originally scheduled to drop on Monday, July 28.

"My darlingz, I've pushed the release of Anaconda to next week, Monday 8/4," she wrote the following caption. "I promise you will understand why before the week is out. Loveeeeeeee uuuuuu."

Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj's "The Pink Print" is set to be released later this year. She previously said during her interview with Los Angeles radio station Power 106 how she is in no rush to announce the release date for the album.

"Nowadays, in this era, people want things so quickly," she said. "We don't even absorb anything. We're never in the moment, ever. We're always in the future. So, I don't want them to think about the release date. I want them thinking about the music."
