Major updates on the Xbox One have been made available to Preview Members through a recent rollout featuring revamped apps, new sections and other additional surprises, according to Engadget. However, they're currently exclusively available to members of Xbox Live Preview. Microsoft has started the rollout of updates to the Xbox One with a considerable number of enhancements, updates and new features. As announced in February, the preview program will be made available through invitation only.

Following its unfortunate underperformance, the Xbox One has consistently found itself below Sony's PlayStation 4 in terms of sales, putting Microsoft in a position where it should do something immediately to save its latest gaming console. Microsoft needs to keep the Xbox One appealing and relevant, according to CNET. Since its release in November 2013, PlayStation has enjoyed a wide lead, selling more than 10 million units all over the world, over the 5 million units of Xbox One distributed to retailers. However, Microsoft has not mentioned anything about the sales figures of its console.

According to the blog post on Friday by Larry Hryb, Microsoft's Xbox Live chief, new features will include a reorganized Party App, a new Friends Section, a Media Player, Xbox One Digital TV Tuner, SmartGlass Stream TV, Boot to TV, Live TV Miniguide, SmartGlass Updates, "Xbox On," Country Expansion, Multiple GameDVR Deletes, Saving Avatar Gamerpic, new options for Settings Updates and Bandwidth Usage Display.

He said that these are "just some" of the new features that will be rolling out, suggesting that there would be more. While the recent rollout is available only to a select number of gamers, the rest of the Xbox One owners should be able to enjoy the new updates sometime in September. More countries will also be enjoying newer features, such as voice function and others.
