The Cleveland Cavaliers are not yet done tweaking their roster this offseason, as reports indicated that they could sign veteran shooting guard Ray Allen before the 2014-15 NBA season starts.

Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports reported that the Cavaliers, who recently got a commitment from free agent forward Shawn Marion, are "optimistic" about their chances of acquiring Allen.

Allen, who averaged 9.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per game with the Miami Heat last season, will reportedly make his decision in September, but there is already growing speculation that the 39-year-old will join LeBron James in his bid to bring a title to Cleveland.

The 18-year veteran expressed interest in playing alongside James earlier in the offseason, but his agent has insisted over the past several weeks that Allen is still undecided on whether or not to continue playing next season.

Should Allen decide to sign with the Cavaliers, James will have an additional shooter around him after also signing James Jones and Mike Miller earlier this summer.

However, according to USA Today, the Cavaliers should not focus on signing Allen if they want to improve their chances of winning a championship next season. USA Today reported that Cleveland should address their point guard and center position depth.

USA Today pointed out that Cavaliers should find another point guard to backup Kyrie Irving, who has been bothered by different injuries in his first three seasons in the league.

The center position is also a major concern for the Cavaliers. Both Anderson Varejao and Brendan Haywood have the reputation of being injury-prone.

"The Eastern Conference is loaded down low. The Chicago Bulls, Cleveland's biggest threat, have the deepest set of big men in the NBA with the additions of Pau Gasol and Nikola Mirotic," USA Today wrote.
