Fans of the "Mario Kart" franchise are rejoicing with the latest news from Nintendo.

It has just been announced that there will be two downloadable content packs that are coming soon for "Mario Kart 8" players. They will be able to add the villager and Isabelle from "Animal Crossing" and "The Legend of Zelda's" Link, according to Polygon. The news came from a post in the official Nintendo store in the UK.

Pack 1, which will be available in November, will have Tanooki-suit Mario, Cat-suit Peach and Link, as well as eight courses and four new vehicles. In May 2015, Pack 2 adds Isabelle from "Animal Crossing: New Leaf," four vehicles, eight tracks and the skeletal Dry Bowser as well as "Animal Crossing's" Villager.

Each Add On Content (AOC) pack will have two new cups with four courses each, which brings up the number of courses by 50 percent. Classics such as Wario's Gold Mine (Mario Kart Wii) are included together with new courses that take place in the worlds of "Animal Crossing" and "The Legend of Zelda." The F-Zero franchise brings in new vehicles, including the Blue Falcon kart that will be in the AOC pack 1.

Gamers buying both DLC packs will get additional content such as eight new colors for Shy Guy and Yoshi. The colors can be immediately accessed by those that pre-purchase the packs. Each pack will retail for $8 in the U.S. and if you get the bundle, the price goes down to $12.

Observers are saying that this time around, Nintendo seems to be very serious about improving their add-ons, which was a sore point in their DLC of old. They said that the New Super Luigi, which was supposed to be a booster pack, seemed more like an expensive and separate title.
