Now, MTV reports that aside from including their latest hit "Best Song Ever" in the album, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson will also be collaborating with rapper/ producer Pharrell Williams in the new record.

"We are definitely talking," Williams told the Sunday Mirror, as noted by MTV. "From what I've heard of their new stuff I'm pleasantly surprised. Their new stuff is definitely a progression and an elevation. I will hopefully be getting involved as we are definitely in talks."

Simon Cowell, manager of 1D and founder of Syco Records, also revealed that he wants the rapper to join the boys in the record.

"I spoke to Pharrell about working with us on something," Cowell told the tabloid. "Hopefully, we'll have a Pharrell track [on 1D's new album] if that works out well."

Midnight Memories will be the band's third studio record, following the huge success of both Up All Night and Take Me Home. The album release comes off the heels of their first ever concert documentary movie One Direction: This Is Us which has already grossed $23.9 million in the U.S. (from release until Sept. 6).
