According to an announcement on Friday, Frances O'Connor will be joining the cast of the American fairy tile drama series "Once Upon a Time" for its fourth season as Belle's mother.

O'Connor will be appearing as Colette in the sixth episode, where fans will learn about the role that she played in Belle's life. There is no news yet regarding the nature of their relationship, but what is currently known is that Colette will be in Storybrooke about to unite with her daughter. Before she officially joins the cast of the show, she will be introduced through flashbacks, which will be the first time writers go through the past of Belle portrayed by Emilie de Ravin, Digital Spy reports.

Executive producer Adam Horowitz mentioned that her initial appearance will be brief, but there is the chance that more of her will be seen later in the season. There are also speculations that she would join the show for the following seasons.

The 47-year-old actress was born in Australia and has been seen in various television shows and films. She previously starred in "Cashmere Mafia," a short-lived series by ABC, and also played roles in "The Missing," "Mr. Selfridge" and "Mansfield Park," among others.

"Once Upon a Time" will be returning for its fourth season on Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. on ABC to the excitement of its fans as well as fans of the highly successful animated film "Frozen," since its characters will also be joining the cast. Furthermore, relationships of the older characters will also be revisited and built on, especially with the additional cast members.
