Former vice president contender Sarah Palin and her family attended a rowdy party last weekend in their hometown of Anchorage, Alaska, when a huge brawl broke out. The Palins reportedly contributed to the chaos and even sparked some of the fighting.

Palin's daughter Bristol allegedly punched a man who was a guest at the party, according to ABC News.

"She was punching him [another man] in the face like six times; it was an assault if I've ever seen one," said fellow attendee Eric Thompson, who reported that there were roughly 70 guests at the birthday party Saturday where the Palins visited. "It wasn't a light punch either. She was really hitting him. I'm surprised he just sat there and took it."

A political blogger, Amanda Coyne, wrote that Sarah Palin, with her husband and three children, arrived to the party in a stretch Hummer, and as the night went on, the fighting started when "the beer started flowing."

Track Palin, 21, allegedly attacked a party guest who had dated Willow Palin, his younger sister. According to Thompson, it was then that the Palins were asked to leave.

"I heard Sarah Palin yell 'do you know who I am?' All of us could not believe it. We thought we were watching an episode of Jerry Springer," he said.

Thompson said he and nearly a dozen other guests gave statements to the Anchorage police. Officers only confirmed that members of the Palin family were in attendance at the party Saturday night and that police "responded to a report of a verbal and physical altercation taking place between multiple subjects." No other details were released.

On Thursday, Sarah Palin made no reference to the previous night's happenings when she appeared on Fox News' "Hannity Show."

The Palin family has not commented on the story.
