"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" trailer is officially here!

On Monday, the trailer for the third movie installment of "The Hunger Games" franchise finally arrived.

The trailer features the movie's protagonist Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) leading the rebellion against the Capitol with the help from her childhood friend, Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth), and District 12 escort Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks).

People notes, as Effie joins Katniss -- also known as the Mockingjay -- in the rebellion, she switches "her glam style for a drab, dressed-down look. (Call it bunker chic.)"

"I never wanted any of this," Katniss tells President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the beginning of the trailer. "I never wanted to be in the Games. I just wanted to save my sister and keep Peeta alive."

He replies, "Miss Everdeen, it's the things we love most that destroy us."

The trailer then cuts to a series of clips showing Katniss and her team preparing for the rebellion.

Midway into the trailer, we see the now-brainwashed Peeta Mellark (played by Josh Hutcherson) asking Katniss' rebellion troupe to "lay down their weapons now."

"You're alive," Katniss responds as she stares in amazement at Peeta through the prompter screen.

After Katniss discovers that Peeta is in fact still alive, Woody Harrelson's character, Haymitch Abernathy, reveals to her that "Peeta is the Capitol's weapon, the same way you're ours."

Katniss then makes her way to the headquarters of Plutarch Heavensbee -- played by the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman -- and President Alma Coin (Julianne Moore) and insists that they fulfill her request.

"You will rescue Peeta at the earliest opportunity, or you will find another Mockingjay," she demands.
