Justin Bieber is scaring Batman fans everywhere after uploading a picture of himself holding a Batman VS. Superman script with the name Bieber plastered on the cover in large letters to Instagram.

"#Robin," the caption said.

After Bieber, 19, uploaded the photo, fans of the Batman franchise were frightened and could only hope that the picture was a joke.

"God, please let it be a hoax!" KoderKev, a Twitter user said.

"Hopefully he's kidding," allinson smith, another Twitter user said.

According to the New York Post, the pop singer is a fan of Batman, and his father bought him a customized "Batbike" for his last birthday.

Although the script and Bieber's name on the script appeared official, there is still plenty of chance that the picture was a prank. Batman VS. Superman is not a known title of any upcoming film, and Robin has not been announced as a character in the Man of Steel sequel, which will feature Batman. Hours before uploading the photo onto Instagram, Bieber posted an ominous tweet on his Twitter account.

"Off to do something funny . . . or die...," Bieber said via Twitter.

If it is true, however, there is going to be a massive number of disappointed fans. These fans can hang out with those who are already doubting the upcoming Batman/Superman collaboration film after the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman.

Warner Bros. recently announced that Affleck, 41, will play Bruce Wayne in the Man of Steel sequel opposite Henry Cavill, 30, who will continue to portray the role of Clark Kent.

"The only things that can defeat Superman are kryptonite, magic, and putting Ben Affleck and Justin Bieber in his movie," JRheiling, a Twitter user, said via on the web site.

The Internet has been plagued by attempts of disappointed fans to rid Affleck from the film. Hours after the announcement, #betterbatmanthanaffleck began trending on Twitter.

A petition was also formed on Change.org to get a new actor casted. The petition currently has over 93,000 signatures, more than 56,000 away from its goal.

"His acting skill is not even close to being believable as Bruce Wayne, and he won't do the role justice," John Roden, creator of the petition, said. "He's not intimidating enough for the role of Batman. Batman is someone that strikes fear into the hearts of men. His portrayal of Daredevil was atrocious, and he's not remotely close to an action star or a superhero."

The sequel to director Zach Snyder's Man of Steel, which will feature both Superman and Batman, will be released July 2015.
