Finally, the release of "Magic Mike 2" has been confirmed by the Twitter account of Exhibitor Relations Box Office. Fans of "Magic Mike" will be pleased to know that the sequel will be released on July 3, 2015. The film sequel will open against "Terminator: Genesis." Written by Channing Tatum and Reid Carolin, the new installment can expect to deliver a barrel of laughs similar to the first movie.

The sequel is said to be a movie about a road trip. Similar to the first movie, it will still have comedic overtones, Slashfilm reports. Tatum said that they did not want to make the sequel too dark, but instead decided to make it a lot of fun. Unlike a lot of sequels, this particular sequel will be quite different from the first movie. The sequel will not be directed by Steven Soderbergh, who was the director for "Magic Mike." The sequel will still be in good hands, however, under the direction of Gregory Jacobs.

Most of the old cast members will be coming back for the sequel. Channing Tatum will still be playing the lead role. The kid Adam will be played by Alex Pettyfer, and Adam's sister and the love interest of Mike will be played by Cody Horn. Ken will be played by Matt Bomer. Also expect Olivia Munn, Adam Rodriguez, Kevin Nash, Gabriel Iglesias, Mircea Monroe, Riley Keough and Wendi McLendon-Covey to complete the cast.

Joining the cast is Jada Pinkett-Smith. Glamour reports that her role was supposedly designed for a male actor, but the role was rewritten for her. Apparently she will be playing the role of a strip club owner. However, fans of Matthew McConaughey will be sad to know that he will no longer in in the sequel of "Magic Mike."
