The 2014-15 NBA season is about to kick off, which means that the new Fantasy Basketball season is also right around the corner.

In fact, several fantasy leagues have already conducted their drafts. But in case you are still unsure about who to pick, here are the list of the top five point guards based on NBA.com's draft big board.

1. Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry was ranked as the best point guard in terms of fantasy potential this year. It is not surprising, though, especially after the 26-year-old point guard had another breakout season last year.

Curry, who will be entering his sixth season in the league, averaged career-highs 24.0 points and 8.5 assists to go along with 4.3 rebounds last season.

He also posted 1.6 steals and converted 3.3 3-pointers per game last season, but fantasy owners should still expect turnovers to come, considering the fact that the Warriors will adjust to new coach Steve Kerr's system.

2. Chris Paul

Chris Paul is also a good choice if you are picking No. 3-5 in your league as the veteran point guard is also expected to have another big season this year.

Paul averaged 19.1 points and 10.7 points to go along with 4.3 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game last season. One possible drawback is Paul's health after missing 20 regular-season games last season.

Fantasy owners couldn't go wrong with either Curry or Paul, though. If an owner cares less about 3-pointers and points per game, then Paul should be on top of his point guard draft board.

3. Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook is currently third among the top point guards in the league, but fantasy owners should take a cautious approach in picking the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar even if Kevin Durant will miss the first several weeks of the season.

Westbrook averaged 21.8 points and 6.9 assists to go along with 5.7 rebounds and 1.9 steals last season, but he also committed 3.8 turnovers and shot just 43.7 percent from the field last season. His health should be considered as another red flag after playing in just 46 games last season mainly because of a knee injury.

Aside from Curry, Paul and Westbrook, fantasy owners should also take a hard look at John Wall of the Washington Wizards and Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers because both young point guards might have big turnarounds this year.

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Jeremy Lin, who averaged 12.5 points and 4.1 assists last season, is also one of the possible sleepers.

While he is not expected to have a repeat of "Linsanity" in Los Angeles, Lin has the potential to become more productive this season because he might get plenty of minutes with Steve Nash struggling to get healthy.
