Patience and confidentiality doesn't often exist on the Internet, and that's just fine with avid Marvel fans who are eager to learn more details about the upcoming "Avengers 2 : Age of Ultron."

With that said, the cat's out of the bag as the trailer was leaked online on Oct. 22, which then lead to Marvel having no choice but to counteract the leak and release the official trailer and poster earlier than expected -- six days earlier, according to reports.

Initially, "Avengers" fans learned of the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" offiical trailer release though an announcement made at the end of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," but somehow the video was leaked online early and was available to view in "fairly decent quality," according to CinemaBlend.

Marvel maintained a good sense of humor about the leak, however, and sent out a light-hearted and funny tweet via its Marvel Twitter account.

So what does the trailer reveal?

While there is a lot to take in, the "most shocking thing" about the trailer is "just how incredibly dark the tone is," CinemaBlend points out.

"James Spader's Ultron has already succeeded in sending more than a few chills down my spine (even if that line about strings is weirdly reminiscent of Pinocchio), and there is a hell of a lot of darkness and destruction on display," CinemaBlend adds. "Marvel Studios is best known for making comic book movies that aren't afraid of one-liners and funny quips, but there is none of that in this preview. Instead, we get Mr. Funny-Man himself, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) talking about how the Avengers have reached the end of the path that he began leading them down. Oh, and then Thor picks him up by his throat."

Considering that this is the first trailer for a highly anticipated film that won't be coming out until summer of 2015, there's a whole new slew of questions that have surfaced.

Some of the questions that CinemaBlend is pondering include: "How do Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) enter the picture, and how did they get free from the lab we saw them in at the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier? Why are Hulk and Iron Man (in the Hulkbuster suit) fighting? What exactly happened to Bruce Banner that caused him to curl up in a ball like that? And what the hell is going on with Captain America's broken shield?"
