Freddie Roach is confident that Manny Pacquiao will score a knockout win against Chris Algieri in their upcoming World Boxing Organization welterweight title fight on Nov. 22 at the Venetian Resort in Macau, China.

Pacquiao, who will be defending his world title for the first time since recapturing it during his rematch with Timothy Bradley, has not scored a knockout since his stoppage win against Miguel Cotto in November 2009.

Roach said, though, the Pacquiao's upcoming fight against Algieri will be a different story, saying that his fighter's punching power will be critical because the fight will be staged at a catchweight of 144 pounds, saying that the Filipino boxing icon wasn't too powerful at 147 pounds.

"I think, you know, at '47, maybe he's a little bit smaller than most of the '47-pounders out there. We have to feed him five times a day to make that weight," Roach said via The Philippine Star. "This fight's at '44. I think his punching power will come back and I see a knockout coming for sure."

The Hall of Fame trainer is also not concerned about Algieri's height advantage against Pacquiao, who is four inchers shorter than his challenger. Roach said that Pacquiao has been sparring with taller and bigger opponents and the Filipino boxing icon has been hurting his training partners with his punches.

"Well, you know, we added some big sparring partners," Roach said. "Mike Jones is really a big, good puncher and so forth, and Manny is doing really well with him. He's hit him with some good shots here. He's hurt him a couple times in training camp already. He's showing good power so far and he's showing the intensity that I want."

Roach also added in an interview with BoxingScene that Pacquiao, who has a 56-5-2 record with 38 knockout victories, has been working hard in training camp, while also playing down reports suggesting that the former pound-for-pound king is having a difficult time shedding weight.

"Weight has never been an issue for Manny," Roach said. "But to have him make weight four weeks in advance of a fight is incredible, even for him. He is so motivated for his fight with Algieri."
