The next movie in the blockbuster "Fast and Furious" action series has an official title and a trailer release date, which will premiere during a live, online event next weekend, reports Digital Trends.

Set to debut in theaters April 3, 2015, the next installment of the highly successful franchise will be titled "Furious 7," according to a Universal Pictures announcement. The studio also released promotional images for the film and announced the online event that will reveal the film's first official trailer.

"The Road to Furious 7: Trailer Launch Event" kicks off Saturday, Nov, 1, at 3 p.m. EST (12 p.m. PST) on the official Furious 7 Facebook page as well as air on E! network. The event will feature the cast and creative team from the action-thriller. Fans are invited to submit questions via Instagram with the hashtag "#AskFurious7″ or by posting comments on the Facebook page.

The event and title announcement was accompanied by a synopsis of the film:

"Continuing the global exploits in the unstoppable franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson lead the returning cast of Furious 7. James Wan directs this chapter of the hugely successful series that also welcomes back favorites Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black. They are joined by international action stars new to the franchise including Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa, Ronda Rousey and Kurt Russell. Neal H. Moritz, Vin Diesel and Michael Fottrell return to produce the film written by Chris Morgan."

Actor Vin Diesel has openly expressed his bitter-sweet feelings about the film's debut in light of friend and co-star Paul Walker's tragic death late last year.

The Fast and Furious franchise has earned more than $2.3 billion worldwide since the first film in 2001. "Fast and Furious 6" grossed more than $788 million and was the world's sixth-highest-earning film in 2013.
