The interwebs has been buzzing about Selena Gomez's love life post Justin Bieber. Many names have been swirling online about the singer's new eye candy, including English boy band Union J's George Shelley. However, sources say the two are just merely friends.

A recent report has surfaced that Selena and George spent some intimate time together in Portugal, after the Lisbon-leg of the "Come & Get It" singer's Star Dance tour. Gomez apparently flew Union J out to open for her concert in the country. After the show, Selena threw an after-party in her hotel room and things got a little heated.

"She invited all the Union J boys and some other members of her entourage to her room and they had a great time drinking and dancing. Selena and George were all over each other and things got very heated," a source told The Sun.

After the party, everyone else left Selena's room except Shelley.

"Everyone else left at 2 a.m. so they were able to spend the night together," the source said.

However, according to E! News, the two are just friends. A source told the entertainment news website that they aren't an item. Moreover, Sugarscape reports that George's Union J bandmates have already squished the rumors. The report notes that JJ Hamblett told Guilty Pleasure:

"They are just friends," Hamblett noted. "It's not our place to discuss but they are friends, and obviously George will say what he wants to say about the situation."

Union J's Josh Cuthbert also explained that against what reports say, George isn't a womanizer - he's just a "hug whore."

"He's such a huggy person. He loves hugs. He just hugs people," Josh explained. "People who know him will be like 'awww', but people who don't will think what the hell is going on? He's like this tidal-wave force when he hugs you. He is the hug whore of the band."
