Cameron Diaz's turn as host on "Saturday Night Live" was met with criticism after a "New Annie" skit aired.

Diaz starred as Miss Hannigan and comedian Leslie Jones as "Black Annie," and it was recently slammed by many critics who labeled the skit as offensive and said it perpetuated black stereotypes, Deadline reports.

Although "SNL's" "New Annie" skit was most likely meant to poke playful fun at the 2014 remake of "Annie," which stars Quvenzhané Wallis in the title role, many media outlets, including Salon, slammed "SNL" and Jones for their distasteful approach toward black stereotypes.

"When Jones finally emerges, she plays the hyper-sexualized, temperamental, physically imposing, and money-hungry black woman depicted in so many racial tropes," Salon's Luke Brinker writes.

In the skit, we see Jones appear as the new "black Annie" and tells Daddy Warbucks -- played by Jay Pharoah -- that she thinks her father is Wyclef Jean and her mother is Bonnie Raitt.

"Black Annie" then continues her introduction by revealing her past jobs which embody a series of black stereotypes, including doing a "half a season in the WNBA."

Following her introduction, we see Warbucks noticeably disturbed by the intimidating "Black Annie" and even confesses his fear that "Black Annie" will "take my money."

"Well I'm not sure you're the little orphan girl I'm looking for Annie, but I am in need of a security guard," Warbucks reveals.

"Black Annie" then concludes the skit by thanking Warbucks and saying, "Only thing is, I need my money up front, and I'm only working three days, and I have three kids that you're probably going to have to adopt too."

In addition to Salon, YouTube users also slammed the controversial "SNL" skit posted on the official "SNL" YouTube page.

Some users even threatened to unsubscribe from "SNL" YouTube page after its decision to post the offensive skit.

"Ok im unsubscribing. SNL new season is sh*t... I mean ... Really?? This is comedy... Really? The only thing funny bout this piece of junk is someone at SNL actually thought it was funny. Id rather watch old clips of SNL," user John Doe wrote.

"Had no idea that now it's ok to be racist on TV!!!!" viewer Anna Neprawskey wrote.
