This week, the judges of "American Idol" made a stop in Salt Lake City, Utah to give locals a chance to win the 2014 season.

This week's stop in Salt Lake City marks the second round of Utah auditions this year.

"We have found some very good people," "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest said in an interview with Fox 13. "We have not found who we think could be the Idol yet, the winner yet, so that's why we are here. Hopefully we find an individual that has that potential today."

Those who think they have what it takes will audition for Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and new judge, Harry Connick Jr. If they make it past the auditions, they will have a chance to work with judge-turned-mentor Randy Jackson.

"I know them all very, very well," original "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson said on Sept. 13 during the Novak Djokovic Foundation Gala Dinner in New York City. "They're all amazing people, great in their own right, very credible, really cool, funny."

Jackson also said that fans of the singing competition show can expect to see a lot of inside jokes amongst the judging panel. According to Jackson, the judges will make the newest season of "America Idol" the "greatest show of its kind ever."

"I've moved to the higher court now," Jackson said in terms of becoming a mentor.

Jackson also talked about Seacrest who is currently hosting NBC's game show, "The Million Second Quiz." According to a joking Jackson, the show has made Seacrest "meaner."

The first round of auditions for the 2014 season of "American Idol" began at the Boston Marriot Copley Place on Aug. 27. According to the Boston Globe, the judges were "lighthearted" and "fielded questions and poked fun at one another in their first meeting with the press."

"I have always been a huge fan of 'American Idol' and really enjoyed my time as a mentor on the show, and I am honored that they've asked me to be a judge this season," Connick Jr. said. "As an entertainer, I am truly excited to bring my perspective to 'American Idol' and to help emerging performers find their way."

Season 13 of "American Idol" premieres January 2014 on FOX.
