Cameron Diaz and Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden are planning to tie the knot, Us Weekly reported.

The entertainers have gotten engaged after seven months of dating, and the 42-year-old actress "has recently been spotted wearing a suspiciously sparkly bauble on her left hand," the magazine wrote.

"Everyone thinks it's wild but are so happy for them," an unnamed source told Us Weekly. "Benji always tends to fall in love easily, but this time it's for real and he landed a great girl. They obviously both make each other incredibly happy, and there's nothing better than that."

The 35-year-old rocker is said to be more traditional than Diaz, Fox News noted. Nicole Richie, the wife of Madden's twin brother, Joel Madden, set the couple up originally, Fox News added.

After Diaz hosted "Saturday Night Live" earlier this fall, she and Madden looked cozy at an afterparty, E! Online recounted. "They got there around 1:30 [a.m.] and spent the entire time together," an unnamed source told the magazine "They're very cute together, very intimate. There wasn't overt PDA, you can just tell they're really into each other."

When the two take their vows, it will be the first marriage for both of them, Us Weekly noted. Diaz's dating history is star-studded; she famously dated singer and actor Justin Timberlake and Yankee shortstop Alex Rodriguez before meeting Madden.

Cameron said earlier that she had learned the right lessons from her dating experience, the Daily Mail recalled.

"Here's the thing. You make the same mistake over and over again until you learn your lesson," Cameron had said, according to the British tabloid. "We girls sometimes do the thing where we pick the same person over and over again; they look and seem different, but deep down, they're the same. And that's on us."

She had also told Marie Claire that she was open to marriage but not in a hurry. "'I'm not looking for a husband or marriage or not not looking for that stuff." Now, Madden's pro-marriage stance seems to have won her over.
