Dustin Diamond, the actor best known for playing Samuel "Screech" Powers on the 90's sitcom "Saved By The Bell," has been arrested in Wisconsin.

The 37-year-old actor was taken into custody early Friday morning by local police in Ozaukee County for allegedly stabbing a man with a switchblade, reports TMZ.

Diamond allegedly got into an argument with an unidentified man who was taking pictures of him at a bar late Christmas evening. The argument quickly escalated and he was accused of stabbing the victim before leaving the bar. Police say that he and his girlfriend were found in his car shortly thereafter.

Court documents show that the victim suffered from a non-life threatening, 1/2 inch wound under his armpit and heavy bleeding.

According to the Ozaukee County Sheriff, the former child star was charged with possession of a switchblade, reckless endangerment and carrying a concealed weapon. Hi bail was set at $10,000. His girlfriend was booked for disorderly conduct, and then released.

Diamond says that he was executing self-defense after he and his girlfriend were attacked in the bar.

The Port Washington Police Department confirmed to Us Weekly that Diamond was still in custody by midday Friday and that he was set to appear in court at 1:30 p.m. local time. The police department also released a report of the incident.
