The 2015 NFL playoffs Saturday will see ex-Super Bowl MVPs collide as Tom Brady and the New England Patriots face Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens in the 2015 AFC Divisional game, where the winner will advance to the AFC Championship Game.

What a great game this promises to be.

Both the Ravens and Patriots have been two of the best teams in recent history. Since 2000, these two franchises have won a combined five Super Bowls, and they've made it clear to everyone they don't like each other.

Let's break down the teams and see who has the edge:

New England Patriots

The Patriots finished the regular season with another AFC East crown with a 12-4 record. With the No. 1 seed in the AFC, the Patriots have home-field advantage throughout the postseason this year. Although the Patriots are one of the best home teams in the NFL, they tend to struggle against the Ravens

The Patriots have lost to the Ravens twice at home since 2009.

Quarterback Tom Brady threw 33 touchdowns and nine interceptions this season with a 97.4 passer rating. His favorite targets have been Julian Edelman, Robert Gronkowski and Brandon LaFell, all of whom had over 950 receiving yards. Gronkowski is an elite tight end when healthy, and the Patriots will need every bit of his excellence on Saturday. Edelman has missed the last two games with a concussion, but he is expected to start against the Ravens.

Head coach (and general manager) Bill Belichick has finally put together an average defense. From 2010 to 2013, the Patriots defense ranked outside the top 25 defensively every year. However, this year, the Patriots rank 13th overall in yards allowed. The addition of cornerback Darrelle Revis has obviously made a big difference.

You can expect Revis to be on Steve Smith or Torrey Smith for the majority of the game.

With Jerod Mayo out for the season, Chandler Jones, Dont'a Hightower and Rob Ninkovich have been the best defenders for the Patriots this season at the line of scrimmage. Linebacker Jamie Collins has been playing fantastic this season, especially considering he is just 25 years old.

To beat the Ravens, the Patriots will have to establish the running game with Jonas Gray and LeGarrette Blount leading the way.

Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens aren't intimated by any team at any location for any reason. This team can win on the road as good as anyone. Quarterback Joe Flacco has the most road wins in NFL history. Despite not winning the AFC North, the Ravens defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Divisional game, which was played at Heinz Field.

The Ravens have one of the best defensive lines in the league ranking top five in rushing yards allowed, rushing touchdowns against and rushing yards per attempt against. The patriots had the 18th ranked rushing offense, so the Ravens shouldn't have much trouble containing them.

Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil combined for 29 sacks this season, the most of any two defensive teammates in the NFL.

Steve Smith has proven to be a great free agent addition this year. The 35-year-old wide receiver has a team-leading 79 receptions and 1,065 yards this season. Even without Ray Rice on the team, the Ravens are running the ball effectively. Running back Justin Forsett has 1,266 yards on the ground this season with eight touchdowns.

With Haloti Ngata back from suspension, the Ravens pass rush is back. This isn't the same Ravens team with Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, but they still allowed the sixth fewest points in the NFL this season. The Ravens have done a very good job stopping Gronkowski in the past. In the three games Gronkowski has faced the Ravens, he hasn't scored a single touchdown.

Schedule, Where to Watch

The New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens will play each other on Saturday, Jan. 10, at 4:35 p.m. EST on NBC. The game will be played at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. You can view a live game stream here.

Predictions

This should be a close game to determine who plays in the 2015 AFC Championship. The Patriots have home-field advantage, but the Ravens just seem to match up very well. Unless Blount can have a big day, it will force the Patriots to pass a lot, and the Ravens will get to Brady. Flacco has proven to be an elite postseason quarterback with 13 touchdowns and zero interceptions in his last five playoff games.

Ravens win 24-20
