Kendrick Lamar's recent interview with Billboard about his thoughts on law enforcement in the black community and the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown has a lot of rappers and social media users–namely Azealia Banks and Kid Cudi–up in arms, BET reports.

When asked to share his thoughts on law enforcement in regards to the black community, Lamar responded, "I wish somebody would look in our neighborhood knowing that it's already a situation, mentally, where it's f***ed up."

While revealing that he too has been stopped by police "plenty of times," Lamar continued, "What happened to [Michael Brown] should've never happened. Never. But when we don't have respect for ourselves, how do we expect them to respect us? It starts from within. Don't start with just a rally, don't start from looting – it starts from within."

Rappers Banks and Cudi later caught wind of Lamar's Billboard interview and sounded off on Twitter about their opposing views on his thoughts.

While Cudi opposed Lamar's thoughts in a few tweets, Banks posted a long twitter rant about Lamar's interview and described it as "the dumbest s*** I've ever heard a black man say," MTV News reports.

Check out a few of their tweets below.

Banks added in another tweet that she couldn't believe that Lamar would open up to a "white publication and tell them that we don't respect ourselves." Kid Cudi echoed her sentiments by saying that black artists don't have to feel as though they are speaking for the entire community. And while Banks and Cudi were clearly on the opposing side of Lamar's comments, rapper Lupe Fiasco defended Lamar and blasted Banks and Cudi for taking aim at the "i" rapper.

"2015 will not and can not be the year of the feelings," Fiasco added on Twitter. "You young crazy emotional b**ches and jaded old bigots gotta chill da f**k out."

Fiasco's posts against Cudi and Banks eventually sparked a Twitter war between the rappers. Cudi and Banks suggested Fiasco was irrelevant to the rap game, while Fiasco revealed, prior to the beef, Banks was a fan of his and previously admitted that she stole some of his rap flows when she first began to rap.

Kid Cudi referred to Fiasco as "dweeb" and called him "Poopé Fiasco."

Fiasco also revealed to one of his fans on Twitter he and Cudi had beef prior to the Twitter war over Kendrick Lamar, which is why he slammed Cudi on Twitter for his Lamar statements.

Fiasco would not Banks and Cudi have the last words.

"How about you stop sh***ing on the people who really cared about your well being when this biz was ripping you apart. Fake a** @KidCudi," he said

Fiasco insinuated that he was blocked by the two artists, which he seemed to find humorous.

Kendrick Lamar has yet to respond to the controversy regarding his recent Billboard interview.
