One of the greatest defensive coordinators in NFL history is looking for a new job.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau has parted ways with the team. LeBeau spent much of the 1980s with the Cincinnati Bengals making it to two Super Bowls but lost both games to the San Francisco 49ers.

With the Steelers, LeBeau has been one of the best defensive coordinators of all-time appearing in four Super Bowls and winning two. From 2004 to 2012, the Steelers had the No. 1 ranked defense in the entire NFL five times. In that time span LeBeau's defense ranked in the top five eight times and in the top 10 all nine seasons.

With notable players leaving the team and getting older (like Troy Polamalu), the Steelers defense has ranked 13th and 18th overall the last two seasons.

Having said that, LeBeau still wants to coach defense at the age of 77. The most logical fit for LeBeau would be the Arizona Cardinals. With Todd Bowles likely leaving, the Cardinals need a new defensive coordinator. The Cardinals have a lot of quality defensive players, such as Patrick Peterson, Alex Okafor, Antonio Cromartie and Tyrann Mathieu. The Cardinals No. 1 priority this offseason is the quarterback position, but adding LeBeau would certainly help.

Another team that may want to show interest is the New England Patriots. Even with notable additions such as Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner, the Patriots defense never seems to reach its full potential. Matt Patricia has been coaching the Patriots defense since 2004, and the last two years he has been the full-time defensive coordinator. In four of the last five seasons the Patriots defense hasn't even ranked in the top 25 in yards allowed. Maybe it's time for a change in New England. LeBeau has faced the Patriots many times before in the past, and he would most likely do a better job than Patricia. As much credit as Bill Belichick gets for being a "defensive guy," the defense usually lets the team down.

The Denver Broncos recently parted ways with head coach John Fox, despite the fact he was very successful during his four year tenure. It's unlikely Team President John Elway would elect to choose LeBeau as his next head coach, but LeBeau may want to return to being a head coach. LeBeau was previously a head coach with the Cincinnati Bengals for three seasons from 2000 to 2002. If not as a head coach, LeBeau may have to replace Broncos defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio, who will most likely leave for a head coaching job elsewhere.

One interesting team that may make a run at LeBeau is the New York Giants. Perry Fewell was recently fired as defensive coordinator, and the Giants are still looking for someone to fill the vacant spot. Some Giants fans were hoping Rex Ryan was a possibility, but he chose to take the head coaching job with the Buffalo Bills instead.

LeBeau with the Giants would have its positives and negatives. On the positive side, the Giants would get a defensive genius paired up with Tom Coughlin. LeBeau could do great things with a defensive unit that underachieved (ranked 29th) considering the talent on the roster. On the negative side, LeBeau traditionally coaches a 3-4 defense, whereas the Giants have a 4-3 defense implemented. If LeBeau and the Giants were going to make this work, a lot of adjustments will have to be made on both sides.

One more team that may make a late charge at LeBeau is the Dallas Cowboys. There's a good chance Rod Marinelli is leaving, and what better way to fill that slot than with a Hall of Fame defensive mind like LeBeau?
