While receiving the Visionary Award at a taping for this year's BET Honors, Kanye West delivered a speech about his bi-racial marriage with Kim Kardashian and dispelled rumors that she is with him simply because of his money and fame.

"At the barbershop ... I used to hear people always talking about, 'Man you know when an entertainer get on, of course you know he gon' go and get a white girl and blah blah blah and a white girl gon' get a rich black dude.' But I wanna say that my wife has dated broke black dudes. It got nothing to do with the money," he explained according to E! News.

West then went on to reveal Kardashian's late father, Robert, predicted that she would have a black baby that would show Kardashian "how hard it is" to be a bi-racial child.

"[Robert] said to her, 'One day, you may have a black child ... a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful black child ... and it's gonna be hard. You're gonna see how hard it is,'" West recalled. "So true enough, we deal with racism because there are different races. Or the micro of it is that we focus on the different races as opposed to the macro, which is the human race."

Kardashian has not publicly commented on West's BET speech. However, T-Mobile recently released its Super Bowl ad featuring Kardashian mocking herself and her obsession with taking Instagram "selfies."

"The ad really incorporated a lot of my personality," Kardashian told People. "We really went over scene by scene and what selfies I thought would really showcase me and what I would do. I ski, I went to tennis camp growing up. So there are some things in the commercial that I don't think people know about me."
