Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are set to get married next week, sources told People Magazine.

The couple began dating in 2012 and are said to be getting married on Depp's private island in the Bahamas.

Depp and Heard met on the set of "The Rum Diary" in 2011. In 2012, Depp broke it off with Vanessa Paradis after 14 years. The couple had two children together but never married.

"I never found myself needing that piece of paper. Marriage is really from soul to soul, heart to heart. You don't need somebody to say, okay you're married. If Vanessa wanted to get hitched, why not?" Depp told Glamour Magazine.

Paradis seems to be happy. The children she shares with Depp reportedly get along so well with Heard.

"(Amber and the kids are) ... super close. ... They're like pals and it's great," Paradis said.

In January 2014, Heard and Depp were officially engaged, People learned. They had gotten engaged sometime over the holidays. Heard was even seen trying to cover up her engagement ring to keep the news private.

The couple maintained the engagement, and even when times started to get tough, according to a longtime friend of Depp, the couple stayed together.

Earlier this month, things looked steamy when Heard and Depp kissed in public at the Heaven Gala in Los Angeles.

Speculation of an upcoming wedding became strong when Depp appeared to be wearing a wedding band when answering questions for the press for his upcoming movie "Mortdecai."

Depp is to star in another "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie and currently has some downtime, so it looks like next weekend the couple will marry on Depp's private island.
