J.K. Rowling enthusiasts who don’t want to take a trip to Florida for Universal Orlando’s The Wizarding World of Harry Potter might want to consider going down to Mexico to experience the ultimate collection.

Menahem Asher Silva Vargas has in the past fifteen years amassed the world’s largest private collection of Harry Potter merchandise.

This collection includes toys, books, clothes and all kinds of wizard-related paraphernalia.

Silva Vargas, who is a real estate lawyer, has been certified by the Guinness Awards as having the largest stash of Harry Potter stuff anywhere.

And now that his collection is on display at the Mexican Museum of Antique Toys in Mexico City, everyone has a chance to scope out his passion for acquiring everything from Harry Potter scarves to Harry Potter soda cans.

Speaking to the Guardian Silva Vargas joked about his Harry Potter habit, calling his obsession both a blessing and a curse: “My salary, my bonuses ... it all ended up here.”

Silva Vargas started collecting when he was 12. He can now join the ranks of other collectors who have dedicated their free time to filling up their world with pop culture products.

According to the official Guinness World Record site, the largest collection of Smurfs memorabilia goes to Gerda P. Scheuers of the U.S. Scheuer, who started collecting Smurfs stuff as a child in the late 1970s, has 6,320 items related to the little blue guys.

Bettina Dorfmann, from Dusseldorf, Germany, can claim the world’s largest Barbie doll collection. With more than 15,000 Barbie related items, Dorfmann has no plans to stop collecting the plastic figurines any time soon.

So Silva Vargas, with a total of just 3,097 items in his collection, has some catching up to do.
