Tinashe has premiered a brand new music video for "Bated Breath," a track off her debut studio album "Aquarius."

In the almost 9-minute visual filmed in the Mojave Desert by videographer Stephen Garnett, the Los Angeles native plays a stranded pilot, who crash-lands in the middle of nowhere.

Clad in the army fatigues and aviator goggles, Tinashe crawls through the vast desert wilderness and tries to make her way out all alone, while belting out the emotional lyrics to the slow ballad before finally shedding tears.

In a recent interview with W Magazine, the "2 On" hitmaker revealed that the extended clip only took five hours to shoot. "It was pretty DIY," she said. "It wasn't a big production or anything."

She also admitted that she was basically on her own to make the video, since her label RCA Records did not finance it.

"I don't like to sit around waiting for people to do things for me," she continued. "So when I know my label's not going to produce music videos, I'll either make them myself or I'll find people that I think are cool and reach out to them directly. I'm like, 'F--k it. I'll just do it.'"

As expected, the process was nothing fabulous. The R&B newcomer added:

"You have to fix your own hair, there's no catering, and there's no bathroom, but the challenges became benefits in this case, because they made the video a whole lot grungier. I was incredibly dirty, really dragging myself through the dirt. And it wasn't like I could shower before I had to drive home."

Tinashe is set to join Iggy Azalea on her upcoming "Great Escape Tour," which kicks off on April 14 in Fresno, California. Check out her music video for "Bated Breath" below:
