The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants are set to renew their all-time great rivalry once again this MLB season.

These two historic franchises have done battle with one another dating back to when they use to play in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

The big debate right now among baseball fans is: Which team has the better starting pitcher? Is it Clayton Kershaw or Madison Bumgarner?

You could easily make a case for either pitcher with so many awards, accolades and accomplishments between the two of them.

Let's compare the two great aces and vote on who you think is better:

Clayton Kershaw

Clayton Kershaw has been an absolute monster over the last four years for the Dodgers. In the last four seasons, Kershaw has won three National League Cy Young Awards and an MVP award. In 2012, he finished second in the Cy Young voting, just barely missing out on four consecutive CY Young wins.

There's virtually nothing Kershaw hasn't accomplished on the field. He's led the NL in earned runs against four times, wins twice, and he even pitched a no-hitter last season. When compared to Bumgarner, Kershaw has a much lower ERA (2.48 to 3.06), and he averages three more wins per season. Bumgarner has never once led the league in strikeouts, ERA, wins or innings pitched, whereas Kershaw won the pitching triple crown in 2011.

Last season, Kershaw became the first pitcher in the National League to win the MVP award since Bob Gibson did so in 1968 with the St. Louis Cardinals. Kershaw has a career regular season record of 98-49. Bumgarner's record in the regular season is 67-49. Not even remotely close.

Madison Bumgarner

There's no argument whatsoever who the better regular season pitcher is, but postseason is a whole different story.

Bumgarner is on pace to become one of the greatest playoff pitchers in MLB history. Last postseason, he pitched a total of 52.2 innings allowing an incredibly low six earned runs in those four series. That's a 1.03 ERA! In the very first wild card round, he was brilliant against the Pittsburgh Pirates tossing a nine-inning shutout. Bumgarner has won three World Series championships with the Giants, while Kershaw hasn't even close to winning one.

In the postseason, Bumgarner has a 7-3 record whereas Kershaw is a mediocre 1-5. Bumgarner's career postseason ERA is an incredible 2.14 against the very best teams. Kershaw has a playoff ERA of 5.12. Giants fans have no problem with sacrificing regular season success for championships. Kershaw has lost his last four playoff games, all of which are to the Cardinals

Last postseason Kershaw was horrendous pitching 12.2 innings and allowing 11 runs giving him a 7.82 ERA. Meanwhile, Bumgarner led the Giants to a World Series win allowing just one earned run in his 21 innings on the mound. His 0.43 World Series ERA last year gave him the championship MVP award.

Let's also not discount or overlook what Bumgarner has accomplished in the regular season. Last year, he won a career high 18 games. He's won at least 13 games the last four consecutive seasons, and he is two years younger than Kershaw.
