Many Samsung Galaxy Note 4 handsets have received Google's Android 5.0 Lollipop update by now, especially those outside the U.S. But Samsung users in Europe, early to get the first Android L update, are already getting a new Lollipop update OTA that fixes some confusing feature conflation.

New reports indicate that a new Android Lollipop update may be releasing OTA in short order to fix an annoying bit of feature confusion in the implementation of Android 5.0's Interruptions notifications system.

Google's Interruptions/Priority Notifications system -- which, by the way, is a great feature for the non-Samsung Android devices that never had TouchWiz's blocking mode -- now appears to be superseded by Samsung's more familiar "Do Not Disturb" or blocking mode feature.

The news comes from Android Central, which also noted that while the Interruptions/Do Not Disturb confusion has been abated in the new update, "Mute" mode still unfortunately remains buried inside the Sound settings, rather than quickly accessible through the quick settings' slider.

For the vast majority of U.S. Galaxy Note 4 owners, this news doesn't mean much immediately, as U.S. wireless carriers have yet to push the major Lollipop update OTA to customers. Ultimately, it probably means that when Lollipop finally arrives, Galaxy Note 4 owners will be spared an annoyance.

Like in the case of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S5 Lollipop update for AT&T, which has slowed because of major bugs found in test markets in Scandinavia that we reported last week, we'll update you if the slight adjustment likely means more delay.

As of now, the adjusted Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Galaxy Note 4 is already available to unlocked devices in some European markets, so hopefully the conflated-feature fix doesn't require any major extra work for Lollipop updates in the U.S.
