Argentina and Ecuador will face off on Tuesday night in an international friendly soccer game.

Argentina has absolutely dominated this South American rivalry. The two nations have never played each other at the FIFA World Cup, but they have face off 31 total times dating back to the 1941 Copa America. Argentina has the edge winning 17 of those games. Ecuador won just four, and the other 10 matches resulted in a draw.

Latin Post breaks down the teams and picks a winner:

Argentina (2)

The Argentina National Team is ranked No. 2 in the world behind only Germany, who defeated them in the finals at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Argentina won their last international friendly against El Salvador on March 28 despite Lionel Messi not playing. In that match, Federico Mancuello scored in the 88th minute to seal the deal.

Messi has been listed as "doubtful" for this game against Ecuador.

Goalkeeper Nahuel Guzmán earned a clean sheet against El Salvador, and he is expected to start in net once again. With Messi most likely not able to play, head coach Gerardo Martino will have to employ a balanced attack with Ezequiel Lavezzi and Gonzalo Higuaín leading the way. Pablo Zabaleta leads Argentina's defense into battle alongside Lucas Orbán.

This Argentina squad has to get prepared for a busy summer. The 2015 Copa America begins in June, a tournament that Argentina hasn't won since 1993. Argentina has been placed in Group B with Uruguay, Jamaica and Paraguay.

Ecuador (29)

The Ecuador National Team ranks No. 29 in the world, and No. 6 in CONMEBOL. Other CONMEBOL confederation teams that rank ahead of Ecuador include, Argentina (2), Colombia (3), Brazil (6), Uruguay (9), and Chile (15). Despite not making a single FIFA World Cup appearance from 1930 to 1998, Ecuador has successfully made three of the last four tournaments.

In Ecuador's last friendly, they lost an exciting game to Mexico, 1-0. Only Javier Hernandez was able to find the net as Ecuador was shut out in defeat. Although Ecuador lost the game, goalkeeper Alexander Domínguez was fantastic in net. Domínguez will most likely get the start once again.

Felipe Caicedo leads the offense with Miller Bolanos, who is a very talented passer. Bolanos had a great game against Mexico, but he just couldn't find the back of the net. Argentina is one of the best passing teams in the world, so Ecuador will have to adapt.

Similar to Argentina, Ecuador has also qualified for the 2015 Copa America in Chile. They have been placed in Group A with Mexico, Chile and Bolivia.

Schedule, Where to Watch

Argentina and Ecuador will play one another at 8 p.m. EST on the beIN Sports Network. The game will be played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. You can watch a live game stream here.

Predictions

Given the fact that Messi most likely won't be playing due this "mystery injury," Ecuador obviously has more of a chance. Both teams have a strong defense, but Argentina should be able to light the lamp at least twice.

Argentina wins 2-1
