Another slew of Android 5.0 Lollipop updates is hitting the air, and this time it's for major Samsung devices on Sprint.

Sprint has begun rolling out updates for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy Note Edge over the air (OTA), according to a report from Android Authority. The two premium Samsung devices join the 2014 Galaxy Note 4, which was the first Samsung device to get an update on most carriers in the U.S., in the club of top Samsung handsets running Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The update should be rolling out over the air, meaning that if you have an eligible handset, you should receive a notification any time soon offering the upgrade. If you haven't yet, go to Settings and "About Phone" to push for an update request. If you still don't have an update to Android 5.0 Lollipop after that, be patient, because these rollouts happen in stages.

Expect the Android 5.0 Lollipop to bring elements of Google's new design language, Material Design, along with an updated Samsung TouchWiz interface, enhanced device protection, notification priority customizations, a new lock screen, and other improvements. Android Authority noted that Sprint's change log includes factory reset protection and Wi-Fi calling, but only for the Galaxy Note Edge and not the older Galaxy Note 3 -- or at least those features weren't specifically noted by Sprint for the 2013 phablet.

As the update costs almost a full gigabyte, be sure to be on a fast Wi-Fi network before beginning the upgrade process, and it's smart to make sure your Galaxy Note Edge or Note 3 has at least a half tank of juice in the battery before beginning.
