Fans of this riveting post-apocalyptic drama tuned in last summer and got caught up in all the action on "The Last Ship," which definitely featured a cliffhanger in the season finale.

Although "The Red Flu" now has a cure, politics in the post-apocalyptic world has reared it's ugly head. So now that the viral epidemic has found a solution, the world will have to find a way to rebuild itself, as reported by Cross Map straight from the show's executive producer and co-creator, Stephen Kane.

Kane teased that the crew will be facing "a whole new palate and a whole new set of problems and adventures." This is in reference to the premise that the crew has lived a more exclusive existence on the ship and they will now have to open up to building a new world, since the viral issue has found a reslution.

Although most of the story lines have been kept secret for Season 2 of this Michael Bay-produced series, Deadline reports that Inbar Lavi ("Sons of Anarchy," "Underemployed," "Gang Related") will be joining the show as a recurring cast member. Levi will portray the character Ravit Bivas, a beautiful elite agent with special training as a female Israeli soldier, who will act as a spy and go undercover. It is not clear yet which side she will be spying for though. Politics is what will likely dominate this season's storylines and power-hungry people, not a virus, are the main threat now.

In other news, "The Last Ship" has been picked up by Hulu for exclusive V.O.D. streaming rights in a deal with Turner Broadcasting, according to an article on Variety. This move in effect freezes out other "video buffet" services such as rival giants Netflix and Amazon.

Eric Dane, Rhona Mitra and Adam Baldwin will be returning in Season 2 of this riveting TNT drama, which will premiere on Sunday, June 21.
