After what appeared to be an ambush by TMZ, Nick Cannon gave advice on falling in love. But then, when asked if there would ever be a possibility of reconciliation between him and singer Mariah Carey, he reposnded with, "Never say never," followed by a few harmless laughs as he entered his vehicle.

The website also reported that Nick and Mariah have reportedly been on good terms since April at least, since they were seen hanging out together and with their kids on Easter. But a romantic relationship, according to their sources, is "ancient history."

In a recent article on International Business Times, Cannon, who split with Carey in the summer of 2014 and filed for divorce later that same year, has been linked romantically to Amber Rose. But both stars have denied those allegations and claimed to be nothing but friends.

Carey, on the other hand, has taken a few jabs at the America's Got Talent host in public.

In an October 2014 concert in Tokyo, Carey sang the Billie Holiday song "Don't Explain," where she ad-libbed "I know you cheated m**********r" to the end of the song.

Add to that the fact that Cannon signed on to write a tell-all book accompanied by a large payout, in regards to his marriage with Carey, which was confirmed by Simon and Schuster, according to the Daily Mail. This came after his demands for more money in the divorce was ignored by Carey.

"Mariah was willing to give Nick $10 million but he said 'hell no' and demanded $30," a family friend told Daily Mail. "He told her he could write a book and get $30 million and much more for a movie deal for all of the crap she put him through over the years."

But it seems the two seemed to have worked out their differences -- if for nothing else but their children.
