Christina Aguilera is set to start her stint on the series "Nashville" this week, but her overall foray into the musical world of country music may have to wait a bit.

According to People magazine, the 34-year-old Aguilera reflected this week, "I think my roots will stay where they are. But that doesn't mean there won't be more collaborations down the line."

The "Beautiful" singer adds she also envisions herself adding to her acting resume, sharing that her experiences in the world of acting have been so positive she's almost open to playing any role that she's convinced fits her makeup.

In "Nashville," Aguilera is slated to Jade St. John, a pop singer who expressed dream is to become a country music singer. Of her character, Aguilera later reflects, she's "caught between her love and her passion and what the record label wants of her as an artist."

Serving as one of the judges on "The Voice," Aguilera already has a working relationship with country music star Blake Shelton and her experiences on the set of "Nashville" left her convinced there are no nicer people to be around than country music fans.

"The show couldn't have been more welcoming and great to work with," she said. "On my last day of shooting, they even gave me a cake. It was such a great experience for my family."

Aguilera is scheduled to perform at least two songs at the upcoming Academy of Country Music Awards, with one of them ("Shotgun") slated to be featured on her second "Nashville" appearance on April 22.

"I really love the song," she said. "It speaks to long-lasting love, the roads it takes, the turns it makes and how it lasts forever."

Whenever she performs the song, Aguilera adds she thinks of older couples who have stood the test of time and endured all the challenges of making a relationship work over the long haul.
