"Victorious" star Victoria Justice announced via Twitter over the weekend that her new crime thriller "Eye Candy" on MTV, which debuted in January, has not been renewed for a second season, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"I wanted you guys to hear it from me first, that the cast and I received news that 'Eye Candy' will not be returning for season 2. Even though a lot of you are going to feel sad/angry, please know that playing Lindy Sampson, is something that I loved and I will hold dear to my heart," Justice tweeted.

An article on The Hollywood Reporter said the series, which was based off the famed "Goosebumps" author R.L. Stein's book, was about a 21-year-old hacker, Lindy (played by Justice), who joins a virtual dating website. She soon suspects that one man, a potential suitor, may be a serial killer. With the backing of a team of hackers and an elusive unit of cyber police, Lindy pursues the crimes online and dishes out a little justice of her own on the streets of New York.

The show averaged 592,000 viewers during its entire 10-episode run.

It was developed by Christian Taylor, with Emmy Grinwis penning the script. Via Blumhouse Productions, Jason Blum ("Paranormal Activity"), Yvonna Bernard and Beth Elise Hawk executive produced the show. The pilot was initially shot twice, the first time directed by Catherine Hardwicke, which got scrapped then redeveloped.

In her lengthy Twitter statement, Justice thanked many people, which included Taylor and Blum. But she also wanted to squeeze in a note to her fans.

"Last but definitely not at all least, thank you to the amazing fans. I saw all of your WW trends (it might be 23 or 24 to date) and your unflinching support. It's because of all of you that I get to do what I love," Justice said in her Twitter announcement. "I am beyond grateful for that. It made me so happy that you embraced the show the way you did. I was so lucky to have you guys along for the ride, because you made it that much more exciting!"
