In 1983, audiences all around were scared out of their seats when Barbara Hershey and Ron Silver starred in "The Entity." In more recent times, there have been many paranormal features that have achieved the same degree of fright, but master of frightful horror, James Wan, is about to take a shot at the classic with an expected remake of the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Wan, best know for his work on "Saw," "The Conjuring" and "Furious 7," will helm the producer's chair on this remake and bring on board the brother duo Chad and Carey Hayes to write the script. This same trio also worked together on "The Conjuring," which became a surprise hit in 2013 and was rated R for the sheer fright factor.

Add to that mix Rory Lee, the man who brought Japanese horror flicks "The Ring" and "The Grudge" to North America, and you now have a "fright super-group."

But Lee's resume doesn't stop there. He is also the one bringing us the remake of "Poltergeist" and the remake of the famous Stephen King novel "It." One thing is for sure -- there has been a resurgence of interest in '80s era horror movies, especially the ones that don't sparkle.

"The Entity" is about a single mother who was harassed mentally and sexually by an unknown perpetrator.

It was suggested by one of her doctor's that she was causing the harm to herself, but the movie played out in graphic on-screen details that frightened audiences around the country.

Wan has been known to make box-office gold out of his movies.

According to Box Office Mojo, for the first time ever in the "Furious" franchise -- and in only about two weeks of running -- "Furious 7" has surged passed $1 billion dollars worldwide at the box-office. He also sent the box-office into heavy assault mode when his unexpected R-rated hit "The Conjuring" grossed over $318 million at the worldwide box-office, which is a rare occurrence for R-rated horror movies.
