Morgan Freeman is taking national cable news outlets to task over what he views as their suspect coverage of the ongoing protests in Baltimore.

Now starring in the flick "Five Flights," the Academy Award winning actor told the Daily Beast he's convinced all outlets like CNN, Fox News and MSNBC do is "throw out take after take" and "CNN wants to be pure news, but the others are just commentary. They're just commenting on things."

In specifically discussing the events in Baltimore, Freeman chastised the media for waiting so long and for such a tragedy to occur before reporting on the long deteriorating conditions there. Many residents recently took to the streets in the economically depressed city, engaging in civil disobedience, looting and overall mayhem after a 25-year-old black man died of a broken neck while in police custody.

All six officers involved in the arrest and take down of Freddie Gray have now been charged with an array of offenses ranging from second degree murder, involuntary manslaughter and false imprisonment.

"Police have a standard reaction to shooting somebody," said Freeman. "I fear for my life and I fear for my safety. Now, at least you can see, 'Hey, his hands were up in the air. What part of your safety were you afraid of? The guy was running away, what part of your safety was in danger?'"

The Daily Beast adds Freeman capped his comments by raging, "F**k the media."

The 77-year-old Freeman has starred in such flicks as "The Shawshank Redemption," "Driving Miss Daisy," "Invictus," "Unforgiven," "Million Dollar Baby," "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves," "The Sum of All Fears," "Bruce Almighty," "Along Came a Spider," "The Dark Knight Trilogy" and "March of the Penguins."

In 2005, he bagged an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in "Million Dollar Baby."
