Zayn Malik's exit from One Direction apparently was not on friendly or good terms because Malik and Louis Tomlinson are publicly throwing shade at each other, reports TMZ.

On Wednesday, Malik retweeted a heavily-filtered picture of himself with rumored solo-album producer Naughty Boy on Twitter. Tomlinson tweeted, "Remember when you were 12 and you used to think those Mac filters for your picture were cool haha ! Some people still do HA!"

Malik read his comment and fired back, "Remember when you had a life and stopped making b**chy comments about mine?"

It was nearly three weeks ago that Malik left 1D. While fans have pleaded and rumors circulated he might return, the band's management finally has taken steps to rebrand their image. Management just recently posted a 1D photo without him in it and removed his biography from the website.

Days ago, Malik changed his @ZaynMalik1D Twitter handle to @zaynmalik.

In April, Malik announced his decision to leave One Direction, saying he wanted to be "a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight." Despite his message, rumors spread that he was embarking on a solo career.

If he is starting a solo career, that may be the reason Tomlinson has hard feelings toward him.

Sources close to the British pop mega-band insisted that when Malik left, everyone was on good terms. The reasons management gave for his departure was that he had "stress."

There's also a rumor that Harry Styles is on his way out of 1D. The rumor was nearly confirmed when Morgan Spurlock, who directed the band's 2013 documentary movie "One Direction: This Is Us," told TMZ he expects the band to split in the near future.

"I think they'll stay together for a little bit longer," he said, and predicted that Styles will "probably be next" to pursue a solo career.

This contradicts what Harry Styles recently told The Sun during an interview. He said that the boy band would not break up anytime soon since they are currently working on a new album.

"It's very exciting to be working on our fifth album," he said. "It shows how incredible the fans have been."
