As fans of Battlefield Hardline await the arrival of the latest expansion pack, called "Criminal Activity," to gaming consoles, new details about the upcoming DLC have recently been released.

The highly anticipated expansion pack would introduce four new multiplayer maps, revealed the title's multiplayer producer, Zach Mumbach. He was a guest on the Don't Revive Me Bro podcast, where he discussed some of the new and exciting things in store for the video game.

Two out of the four multiplayer maps are set at night and all differ from one another in terms of size.

The producer clarified that the environments set in the evening are "not, like, re-do's of the main game, but, like, two brand new night maps." All four new environments are set in Florida and California and offer more to the players in terms of its "destructibility."

In fact, Mumbach lauded the developers at Visceral for the game's graphics upgrade. He mentioned they had "done a better job of visually messaging what's destructible and what's not."

Apart from the updated maps the players could explore, the upcoming DLC would also bring in additional vehicles. However, he immediately crushed players' hopes of having an aircraft added to the roster when he announced that there would be no planes on the list.

He attributed it to the fact the latest maps to come are set in closed environments, so adding a plane is impossible.

Mumbach also noted that having an aircraft in the game would not sit well with the vision the team has for Battlefield Hardline.

"I just don't see how to work it into the fiction of what we're doing," said Mumbach.

However, the producer was quick to say that he is not against adding aircrafts into the game.

"I'm not necessarily anti-planes, but when I play Battlefield 4, it just feels like they're fighting each other," he added.

"We're obviously doing a ton of Premium stuff, but we're also going to support players that just bought the game and aren't necessarily Premium," said the producer.

Premium members are reportedly set to get first dibs into the latest DLC, as it would arrive to their consoles two weeks before its official release. Meanwhile, Mumbach revealed that the men at Visceral are already looking into the possibility of having non-premium members test out the game before actual purchase.

Criminal Activity expansion pack is set to arrive to Battlefield Hardline this summer but no specific date has been announced yet.
