Rockstar Games is continuing its war on Grand Theft Auto Online cheaters with an upcoming patch.

Cheats, glitches and hacks have helped some Grand Theft Auto Online players get piles of GTA$ money without putting in the hard work of stealing cars and shooting prostitutes. Over the weekend, Rockstar Games announced plans to fix this issue with an update.

"In regards to reports of hacking and cheating in Grand Theft Auto Online, we are working on a fix that will remove any GTA$ gained through these blatant exploits, as well as prevent this from happening in the future," the game developer said in a blog post.

Rockstar Games also said they will "punish" those that have tweaked the mechanics of Grand Theft Auto Online to score unfairly big. The post made sure to assure players who earned their massive wealth without cheats that they will not be penalized. Cheaters, on the other hand, will soon have to kiss their infinite money goodbye.

"If you have been gifted a large sum of money or collected a large bounty and would like to have the money removed from your account immediately, you can submit a request to Rockstar Support to have your balance properly adjusted," Rockstar Games said. "Otherwise, the money you've been gifted will be removed once our upcoming fix is in place."

To take their anti-cheating initiative even further, Rockstar Games is requesting the help of online players who are willing to snitch on their sneaky neighbors.

"Furthermore, if you encounter someone that is taking advantage of exploits in your GTA Online session, you can alert us directly by using the in-game reporting functionality," Rockstar Games said.

A Grand Theft Auto Online "cheating pool" was also created earlier. Gamers who are condemned to the cheater's pool are stripped of their illegally obtained cash and put in time-out. Cheaters will not be allowed to play with most players for as long as months, according to The Independent.
