Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama, her boyfriend of more than five years, reportedly got engaged recently, OK! reports.

An OK! source revealed that the couple is madly in love and is excited to take their relationship to the next level.

"Wilmer's so good for her, and Demi's madly in love with him," the source said. "They've been to hell and back and emerged stronger than ever."

OK! reports that Valderrama stuck by Lovato's side through a number of tumultuous times in her life, including her 2010 rehab stint for her eating disorder, alcohol and drug abuse.

Back in December, Lovato even credited Valderrama for being the reason she's still alive today and did not have to attend rehab for the second time.

Lovato had an interview with Fitness in December and described her longtime beau as her life saver because he called her out on returning to her unhealthy eating habits.

"Wilmer noticed and called me out on it, which was a relief," she said. "I was done being afraid of food and so tired of overeating and not knowing why I did it. Now I'm on a structured meal plan. I eat four small meals and two snacks a day. It's teaching me portion control."

Lovato and Valderrama have yet to announce a date for their wedding. But what Lovato appears to be currently focused on is her music.

Sam Smith recently tweeted a lyric from Lovato's song "Fix a Heart" and Lovato requested that she and Smith do a remake of her song together, People reports.

Although it is unclear whether Smith and Lovato will join forces on a remake, the tweet has been marked as a favorite by over 16,000 Lovato and Smith fans and has been retweeted over 14,000 times.
