Bad Robot, Skydance Productions, and Paramount are reportedly already working on “Mission Impossible 6,” even though “Mission Impossible 5,” otherwise tagged as “Rogue Nation,” has not even premiered yet.

The fifth installment of the “Mission Impossible” franchise will be out in July, but rumor has it that its film makers have already gotten a head start into the next film.

According to The Tracking Board, JJ Abrams, Dana Goldberg, David Ellison, and, of course, Tom Cruise, will all be returning to produce. Matt Grimm and Don Granger will be the film’s executive producers, while Elizabeth Raposo is the one to oversee development.

For now, though, there has been no word on who will direct “Mission Impossible 6,” not even any word on who is being eyed for the job. However, Screen Rant has pointed out that it might be a newcomer in the industry. After all, introducing new directors who turn out to be amazingly skilled in their genre was one of the most interesting factors that managed to keep the franchise popular through the years.

Apart from who is going to be the director, it also remains unclear on which particular actors are going to appear. Of course, Cruise will be returning, but the report has confirmed that the other two actors from the franchise’s past couple of entries are also going to return, namely Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner.

The “Mission Impossible” series has actually been a very viable option for moviegoers all over the world for almost 20 years now. In fact, “Mission Impossible 4” or “Ghost Protocol” was one of the biggest blockbusters of 2011.

Brad Bird’s take on the action-packed film was considered a critical and commercial hit, getting a bigger gross total earnings at the global box office than any other movie in the franchise. This is the result Paramount is hoping for when “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation” finally hits theaters in a couple of months.

Thankfully for the franchise’s fans, Paramount had already released an official trailer which gives a quick sneak peek into the latest adventures of Ethan Hunt, played by Cruise. According to Cinema Blend, the villain in “Mission Impossible 5” is believed to be his deadliest foe yet. The Syndicate, a rogue organization, has made it a goal to destroy the IMF, and it is up to their team of skilled agents to take down the bad guys.

Although it certainly looks like Paramount will push through with the next “Mission Impossible” film, Screen Rant reminded fans to not hope for the next installment to arrive anytime soon. It must be noted that five years passed between “Mission Impossible 3” and “Ghost Protocol.” Plus, “Rogue Nation” also arrived four years after the film before it.
