Radamel Falcao's season and career with Manchester United has come to an end. Not the happy one however.

The Colombian striker, who was a surprise signing for the Red Devils last summer, had what one might consider a nightmarish season. Not only were his numbers down significantly, but Falcao found himself increasingly relegated to the margins on a squad that could have used him in a lead role.

The numbers? Four goals and four assists in 1,287 minutes. He started just 14 of 38 Premier League games and got to appear as a substitute in 12 other ones. For some context, Falcao had 1,398 minutes for Monaco last season in his abbreviated stint. He started 16 games for the French club and scored nine goals.

Unfortunately for the Colombian, things may not be looking up.

His nine goals in 2013-14 were a massive disappointment, even before being on the receiving end of the knee injury that ended his season. He had scored 28 goals for Atletico Madrid a year earlier and had scored 24 goals during the 2011-12 season. His time at Manchester was supposed to help the striker prove that he had regained his form and could be as lethal as he was at Atletico Madrid.

Instead, Falcao floundered with his numbers in advanced stats dropping wildly. He won fewer aerials for Manchester when compared to his time with Monaco and Atletico. He was taking over one shot less per game. He was dribbling less often. Some might equate that with his being placed as more of a backup striker to Robin Van Persie or Wayne Rooney. But even his key passes per game were down and his long balls also took a hit. He even regressed defensively with his numbers in the tackles, interceptions and clearances seeing declines.

Where he ends up next is a mystery to all. However, there can be no doubt that Falcao had a horrid year at Manchester and it is possible that he might be running out of a chances for redemption.
