Max Greenfield, known for his role as the annoyingly adorable Schmidt on "New Girl," will be joining the cast of "American Horror Story: Hotel."

The “AHS” creator himself, confirmed via Twitter that Greenfield will be an official addition to the cast in season 5.

“This October, Max Greenfield (like you have never seen him) is checking in to the hotel… but not checking out,” Ryan Murphy wrote.

Murphy’s “not checking out” statement could either allude that Greenfield’s character is going to have an unfortunate, very permanent stay in the establishment, or point out that he is not going to stay long in the season’s storyline.

Greenfield has yet to comment on being officially part of the team. According to the show’s IMDB listing, he will be joining the likes of Chloe Sevigny, Matt Bomer, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Grace Gummer, Michael Chiklis, Christine Eastbrook, Frances Conroy, Denis O’Hare, Finn Wittrock, Wes Bentley, Cheyenne Jackson, Lady Gaga, and Sarah Paulson.

It must be noted, however, that the listing on IMDB included Donald Sutherland, Alexander Skarsgard, and Michelle Pfeiffer, celebrities that have not been confirmed to be part of the show. It is, perhaps, best to take the cast list of “American Horror Story: Hotel” with a grain of salt.

Paulson, meanwhile, is among the confirmed actresses who will be part of the fifth season of “AHS.” During her appearance on The Wrap's “Drinking with the Stars: Emmy Edition,” she related how her character will be presented, especially after Murphy revealed that she was going to return as “the baddest bad girl of them all.”

“I have never played any villain on the show,” Paulson told The Wrap. “So, perhaps, there is going to be an element on bad, bad girl. Here is the only thing I can give you – I am not playing Janis Joplin. I would love that. That would be amazing. But, no, I am not doing that.”

When it comes to her co-stars, Paulson admitted that she's hoping to strike up a friendship with Lady Gaga. “I will not have succeeded in this season if I do not have a way of contacting her directly, like a cell phone number, by the end of the season,” she added. “It will be very embarrassing to me if we do not become really tight, close friends.”
