Earlier this month, the cast of Animal Planet's "Finding Bigfoot" stopped by eastern Texas in search of the mythical creature.

During each episode of the reality series, the "Finding Bigfoot" team travels throughout the country to uncover the truth behind the existence of Bigfoot. The team consists of Bigfoot Field Research Organization (BFRO) President Matt Moneymaker, researchers James "Bobo" Fay and Cliff Barackman, and scientist and skeptic Ranae Holland.

After the Sasquatch hunters pick a Bigfoot hotspot, they interview people who claim to have seen the legendary beast. Then, the researchers set up reenactments of the sighting to try to catch the ape-like creature in action.

In May, an Animal Planet film crew paid a visit to Caddo Lake in Harrison County in search of Bigfoot, where they held a town meeting and several interview with Bigfoot believers.

"They reached out to us," confirmed Harvey Scheuer, the general manager of Big Pines Lodge, according to The Marshall News Messenger.

"They said they were going to different areas, and this was one area they wanted to be in. They reached out to us and asked if we'd be interested in hosting what they call a town meeting," he added. "They had about 50 people here, four or five speakers as well as questions from the audience pertaining to looking for Bigfoot. They had about four people get up and talk about their experiences of seeing Bigfoot, where they saw him and what it looked like."

In addition, the "Finding Bigfoot" crew interviewed Captain Ron Gibbs of the Graceful Ghost Steamboat tours. They also used his boat to record interviews with other enthusiasts. According to Gibbs, "Caddo Lake has a reputation for a lot of Bigfoot sightings. People are curious as heck, they want to know about alligators and they want to know about Bigfoot."

He added that the staff "shot part of the episode on the steamboat where they interviewed people that had actually claimed to have seen Bigfoot."

Nonetheless, Scheuer said that he appreciates the exposure that the show will give his business.

"I think after it airs on TV there will be more curiosity and people wanting to come up or people in the restaurant asking if we've ever seen Bigfoot. I think it will add flavor to the area before it's over."

Season 7 of "Finding Bigfoot" will premiere on the Animal Planet on Sunday, May 31.
