Apple is currently advertising the iPad Mini with Retina Display on the company's front web page, but we can expect the emphasis to shift to a new "iPad Pro" at some point in the tail end of 2014.

According to a variety of rumors and reports, Apple is planning to release an iPad with a screen as large as 12.9 or 13 inches. The company is also planning a release sometime in the fall -- most likely October, Digitimes reported. Digitimes believes that the iPad will market to the educational market, which would obviously have huge potential with sales in the grade school realm.

"With Samsung Electronics also reportedly planning to release 12- to 13-inch tablets, the sources believe these large-size tablets will greatly impact ultrabook demand," sources from "the upstream supply chain" said to Digitimes.

On the contrary, other sources have started to ask whether the new iPad would cater to the upper class market in an attempt to counteract Android's sales.

At any rate, we can surely expect a new iPad to be released this year -- regardless of the specifications or even expectations. The first iPad was released in 2010 and there already have been a half of a dozen iPad releases.

What do you think will be the special features in the new iPad once it is released? Do you think it will boast a 13 inch screen or will it be smaller?

Perhaps you already have an iPad and you are not ready to just go out and buy a new one already. Let us know what you think of an October release in the comments section below!
