Kim Kardashian and Kanye West want their daughter, North West, to have a baby sister or brother soon.

According to Us Weekly, the A-list couple has been trying for a year now, but to no avail.

“Kim has been undergoing IVF,” a source revealed. “It is causing problems with her body.”

She even called her husband while she was having a nude photo shoot so that they could make use of her spare time and have sexual intercourse in the bathroom. Apparently, she was ovulating at the time. “You have to get it in when you can get it in,” she revealed in a “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” episode teaser back in March.

It seems that copulating “500 times a day,” as Kim, herself, revealed in a “KUWTK” episode and undergoing in vitro fertilization were not enough to impregnate the reality TV star. In the upcoming May 31 episode of the show, she will tell the audience that the implanted embryo was not successful.

Kim’s chances at getting pregnant for a second time became even slimmer when she found out that some parts of her placenta were left inside her uterus from when she gave birth to North. As seen in a recent episode of the family’s reality TV show, Kim revealed that she had to go through a certain procedure in order to “clear something out of her uterus.”

With infertility issues, the couple started to look into surrogacy. According to Us Weekly's insider, “they will do surrogacy over adoption.”

But when Kim was interviewed by Matt Lauer on “Today” a month ago, she may have given away a few hints that they were still trying to decide whether or not to push through with surrogacy, which was recommended by someone who was close to them.

“I would like to hold out a little bit longer and still try,” Kim told Lauer. “I still have hope. So, I am just going to keep on trying. Never say never. I mean, we have not talked about adopting.”

Regardless of which direction they take for their second pregnancy, one thing is for sure, and that is the fact that Kimye wants another addition to the family. Us Weekly's insider revealed that Kim is hoping that baby Nori will have “a sibling close in age – just like she is with her sisters.”
