A magnitude 4.4 jolt sent residents of Fontana onto their feet early Wednesday morning.

According to the earthquake's event page at the US Geological Survey website, residents of Fontana were closest to the tremor's epicenter which was a mere 5 kilometers or 3 miles North of the city. The 4.4-magnitude quake hit early dawn at 1:35 am with a depth of 3.5 kilometers or more than 2 miles.

The US Geological Survey also adds in the PAGER page that "there is a low likelihood of casualties and damage" but noted that residents should be on "green alert for shaking-related fatalities and economic losses."

On a similar note, Pasadena Star News says that "there were no immediate reports of injuries and damage" due to the light quake. However, the moderate tremor was still felt "as far east as Morongo Valley and as far west as Los Angeles," the report added.

Dispatch Supervisor Amy Blessinger told Pasadena Star News that although there were calls at the police office confirming the earthquake, there were no reports of damage.

The earthquake was followed by very weak aftershocks. Based on Earthquake Track's webpage, a 1.8 magnitude earthquake followed the 4.4 tremor near Fontana.

Another 1.6 jolt was recorded an hour after, ending with a magnitude 2.3 on the same hour. About 4 hours ago, another 1.8 magnitude shaking was recorded in Fontana according to Earthquake Track.
