The Season 2 premiere of "Chasing Life" is fast approaching.

The show last left off with April (Italia Ricci) and Leo (Scott Michael Foster) getting engaged in the Season 1 finale, and it seems as though they'll jump right into celebrating in the Season 2 premiere. However, Dom (Richard Brancatisano) might cause trouble in the relationship.

ABC Family has released a teaser trailer for the Season 2, titled "A View from the Ledge."

According to Spoilers Guide, the synopsis of the first episode shows that April will have some things to adjust to now that she is engaged but has no job. Usually, April is all about looking ahead, but she is now starting to feel differently about it. Vanessa helps her reach this conclusion.

The first thing on her mind is having a fun engagement party.

"Meanwhile, Natalie stumbles upon a secret manuscript of her father's that could have major repercussions for the entire Carver family," according to the official synopsis.

This season is shaping up to be "fun," according to executive producer Patrick Sean Smith.

In an interview with E! News, he explained that he was happy about how the plot was playing out.

"I feel proud of the scripts that have been written, and that I'm excited about the new direction April's life is going in," he said. "Usually, she's trying to get an article or a byline, but now, she's trying to get her life in a better place"

In the first season, April is battling her recurring cancer condition and quit her job as a newspaper reporter. With the new season approaching, it seems that the show is moving into a more lighthearted direction.

Smith also hinted that the engagement between the two is leading the show in another direction.

"Chasing Life" Season 2 premieres July 6 at 10 p.m. on ABC Family.
